School of Education
The School of Education originated from the former Department of Education and the Department of Preschool Education. The Department of Education was established in 2006 and successively offered six majors: Humanities Education, Science Education, Primary Education, Primary Education (English), Art Education, and Preschool Education. In June 2013, the Preschool Education major was separated from the Department of Education and became an independent department. In 2019, the Early Childhood Education (Junior College Program) was launched. In August 2019, the Department of Education and the Department of Preschool Education merged to form the School of Preschool and Primary Education. In August 2025, it was officially renamed the School of Education. At present, the School of Education offers two undergraduate programs — Primary Education and Preschool Education — and one junior college program — Early Childhood Education. The School of Education has nearly 2,000 students. The Primary Education program was rated as a “First-Class Undergraduate Program of Jilin Province” in 2021. The School of Education is one of the major bases for teacher education at the university, featuring a strong teaching faculty, rich experience in teacher training, and an impressive teacher certification pass rate of 99%, ranking first in the university. In recent years, many graduates have been admitted to prestigious universities such as Northeast Normal University, Nanjing Normal University, and Southwest University.
