School of Foreign Languages
The School of Foreign Languages, formerly the Department of Foreign Languages which was established in the same year as Boda College, was renamed the School of Foreign Languages in 2019 according to the development needs of the university. The School currently offers seven undergraduate programs: English, Japanese, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Business English, making it the school with the largest number of programs at Boda College. Among these, the English program is a teacher education program, while the others are non-teacher education programs. The English program enrolled its first students in 2000, the Japanese program in 2007, the Korean program in 2008, the French and Russian programs in 2011, the German program in 2012, and the Business English program in 2013.
The School of Foreign Languages has 61 faculty members, including 18 associate professors or above, and 8 foreign teachers. 100% of the faculty hold a master's degree or higher.
According to the characteristics of language learning, the School implements a "thematic" practical teaching model and a "tutorial system" cultivation model, both of which have achieved good teaching results. The School consistently maintains a high rate of student admission to postgraduate programs, with students gaining entry to high-level universities. In recent years, students have been admitted to postgraduate programs at key "Project 211" and "Project 985" universities such as Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Shanghai International Studies University, Northeast Normal University, and Yanbian University, as well as to overseas universities.
Furthermore, our School actively engages in international exchanges. We have established international cooperative relationships with Hiroshima University, Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics, and Asia University in Japan; Kangwon National University, Hoseo University, Soonchunhyang University, and Gwangju University in South Korea; Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy and North-Eastern Federal University in Russia; and the University of Munich (LMU) in Germany. Students can apply for overseas study through programs such as 3+1 or 2+2 during their undergraduate studies.
The School of Foreign Languages places great importance on the construction of practical training bases and internship/employment bases. Over the years, it has established over 40 such bases, meeting the internship and employment needs of graduates. In constructing these bases, the School strives for alignment with professional directions while also broadening its perspective. Based on establishing high-quality domestic bases, it is actively working to build overseas practical bases, providing great convenience for student internships and employment.
