School of Mathematics
The School of Mathematics was established in 2000, making it one of the first departments founded at Boda College. It was renamed from the Department of Mathematics to the School of Mathematics in 2019. Currently, the school offers two undergraduate programs: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Data Science and Big Data Technology. It has a teaching staff of 40 full-time and part-time faculty members, including 12 professors, 13 associate professors, 17 with doctoral degrees, and 23 with master's degrees. In 2009, the teaching team for the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics program was rated as an Excellent Teaching Team in Jilin Province by the Provincial Department of Education. In 2011, the program was designated as a Provincial Characteristic Program during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education. In 2014, it was approved as a Brand Program Construction Site by the Provincial Department of Education.
The School of Mathematics adheres to the educational philosophy of "Student-Centeredness" and is guided by social and market demands. After 20 years of reform and development, the School has made significant progress in talent cultivation, scientific research, cultural inheritance, and social services, forming distinct program characteristics. In the past five years, 83 students from the School have been admitted to master's degree programs at universities such as Yunnan University, Liaoning Normal University, Changchun University of Technology, Jilin Normal University, Qinghai Normal University, and Shenyang Normal University.
Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Teacher Education)
Educational Objectives: To cultivate mathematics teachers for primary and secondary schools who possess excellent character and moral integrity, a solid foundation in basic mathematics knowledge, outstanding teaching qualities, strong comprehensive abilities, a passion for the education sector, a spirit of scientific innovation, and the ability to solve practical problems.
Training Requirements: Students in this program primarily study the fundamental theories, basic knowledge, and essential methods of mathematics. They are required to be able to apply mathematical knowledge and computer technology to solve various practical mathematical problems, cultivating them into application-oriented talents who meet the needs of socio-economic development.
Core Courses: Mathematical Analysis, Advanced Algebra, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Ordinary Differential Equations, Complex Variable Functions, Real Variable Functions, Modern Algebra, Mathematics Teaching Theory, Mathematical Practical Software, Etc.
Career Directions: Mathematics teachers in primary and secondary schools, scientific research institutions, government agencies, as well as roles in mathematical computation, data analysis, management, and practical application development within enterprises.

Data Science and Big Data Technology
Educational Objectives: Cultivate compound talents who meet the needs of national and social development, develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically, have good scientific literacy, innovative and entrepreneurial ability and team spirit, have the ability to use big data technology knowledge to solve specific industry application problems, and are competent for data analysis and mining algorithm research and big data technology system development.
Training Requirements:This program primarily focuses on the basic talent needs of the big data industry development. It adopts a combination of degree education and short-term training to cultivate application-oriented professionals and skilled talents for the big data-related industries.
Core Courses: Data Structures and Algorithms, Introduction to Big Data, Distributed File Systems, Distributed Computing Frameworks, Python Programming, Data Analysis and Data Mining, Distributed Databases, Data Warehousing, Big Data Visualization Technology, etc.
Career Directions: Enterprises or public institutions with management and decision-making needs in industries such as Internet, finance, insurance, etc.
