Founded in 2000, the School of Art has become a significant force in the field of art education after years of development. The School currently offers three undergraduate programs: Fine Arts (Teacher Education), Environmental Design (Non-Teacher Education), and Visual Communication Design (Non-Teacher Education), as well as a three-year college program in "Art Design" established in 2017. The current student enrollment is nearly 800.
The School boasts comprehensive teaching facilities, including an art gallery, specialized laboratories, and a computer network laboratory, which can meet the practical and technical needs of different majors. Additionally, there are over 30 specialized studios, 3 computer network technology training rooms (equipped with over 200 teaching computers), 2 multimedia classrooms, 2 still life storage rooms, 1 painting storage room, 1 multi-functional exhibition hall, and 3 comprehensive internship and training rooms. These facilities collectively create an excellent teaching and creative environment, providing a solid guarantee for teaching activities.
The School has a strong faculty of 43 full-time and part-time teachers, including 4 professors and 10 associate professors. Over 70% of the teachers hold master's degrees. The faculty demonstrates outstanding research capabilities, having undertaken 19 provincial-level teaching and research projects, 22 departmental-level projects, published over 10 monographs and textbooks, and publicly published more than 300 teaching/research papers and paintings in provincial-level and above journals, enhancing teaching quality through profound academic expertise.
The School consistently adheres to the educational philosophy of fostering virtue and cultivating talents, closely integrates social needs, and actively guides students to participate in artistic creation and design practice. Over the years, under the careful guidance of teachers, students have actively participated in various design and fine arts creation competitions, achieving repeated success in national-level events such as the National College Student Advertising Competition and the National College Student Snow Sculpture Competition. They have also achieved excellent results in provincial-level competitions like the Jilin Provincial University Visual Arts Competition, Jilin Provincial College Student Art Exhibition, and Jilin Provincial Ice and Snow Creative Competition.
Regarding internships and employment, the School places high importance on the construction of off-campus internship bases. The Fine Arts program has established internship bases including the Affiliated Primary School of Jilin Normal University, the Affiliated Middle School of Jilin Normal University, Changchun Wuxian Xingren Art School, Changchun Baichen Art High School, the Linzhou City Shibanyan Sketching Base in Henan Province, and the Shanhaiguan Sketching Base. The Environmental Design program has cooperated with entities like Qingdao Wenjin Construction Group and Jilin Ziyu Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. to establish internship and training bases. The Visual Communication Design program has jointly built internship bases with Jilin Provincial Animation Group Co., Ltd. and Siping Shunda Expansion Advertising Decoration Company. By organically integrating teaching, internship training, and employment, the School effectively broadens students' employment channels. Graduates are highly welcomed by employers, and the employment rate has ranked among the top in the university for many consecutive years. The Environmental Design program has become a provincial-level first-class program construction site.

Fine Arts (Teacher Education)

In the talent cultivation process, it closely aligns with the employment situation and market demands, ensuring that practical teaching links in the curriculum align with employment requirements.
